I have owned and worked on Vw’s for nearly 20 years. After taking my 1969 bus on a 10,000 mile road trip from England to Canada and the USA in 2016/17, I started Wayoutwestie Aircooled services and setup this website as resource for Vw owners and Vanlifers. I wish to share my knowledge in the hope that I can help and inspire others to keep their vehicles running and go on adventures far and wide.

I love travel and capturing uniqueness through my photography / I shoot 35mm and 120mm film for my personal projects/ I love working on our old VW Camper and have been restoring, maintaining and customising volkswagens since 1997 / I like Guinness but love Coffee more / My favourite band is Iron Maiden\m/ I enjoy trips to the beach and surfing / photography expeditions, gadgets and retro toys / I dream about driving in our camper to Norway to photograph the aurora borealis (northern lights)

I work with my wife with creative and passionate people and offer visual storytelling through the medium of photography, videography and stopmotion.
After exploring the USA and Canada in our 1969 Baywindow we decided to start this website as a resource for fellow vanlifers and Aircooled vehicle owners.
Part of this is to help with advice and offer mechanical services to keep our legendary vehicles rolling!
